aDORable

did i ever show you how cute my parents were on their wedding day?  they were so 50's chic.  remarkably, jacob recognizes them without hesitation when he sees this on our fridge.  "MIMI!" he screams.  (grammy)  this is a little postcard we sent out for their 5oth this summer, designed by stef and i.

onesie workshop take 1

this onesie was printed from a stamp i made using the speedball version of linoleum block.  i'm pretty pleased with it.  i'm eager to try out the owl... if you come to my workshop, you can use it too!

frog pod

jacob's latest.  it's pretty cute AND functional, i have to say.  for those of you who can't tell what it is, it's a bath toy container that suctions right to the wall.  a new target opened near our house, and matt and i felt it was only right to buy something.

two for tea

cute little hand-printed tea towels by michelle brusegaard

apple of my eye

too heavy!
just look at that pudgy hand.

calendar roundup

here are just a few calendars that i found appealing.  there are so many cute ones this year on etsy.  not all of these are letterpress (which i kind've lean toward) but i'm really digging the botanical prints this year.

i'm VERY curious

i am. i am so curious that i'm tempted to send $48 to a blogger that i admire from afar so that once a month, i will get an undisclosed pretty little thing in the mail.
*** she must really be something, because as i went to her etsy shop to get more info for my post, i discovered she sold out.  now i REALLY want to be part of the secret society!  jordan, if you're reading this, please make an exception for me?

"shoe crush"

that's what they call it in my latest jcrew catalog.  well i guess it is.  i'm fond of the walnut leather boots and the yellow ones.  (they're called "lulu")  i'm picturing the boots this fall with skinny jeans/cords or leggings.  are leggings even in anymore?

parsons desk

just wondering if this desk is all it's cracked up to be... parsons desk with drawers from west elm.  a lot of people have 'em.  do they like them?  is there enough room and space for any storage in those little drawers?  i like the mushroom color but it seems unavailable at the moment.

my next purchase

bet you weren't expecting this, right? well folks, it's true.  tomorrow i'm going to by myself some non-locking carabiners to practice the awkward clipping and unclipping of climbing rope.  i just started lead climbing and i LOVE it.

inspirational (and totally adorable)

so most of you probably already saw this today on design*sponge, but i absolutely loved the little post on lindsay laricks.  she not only helps run hammerpress (a super cool letterpress shop in kansas city--which i'm proud to say my sister-in-law worked at), but she started a super cool organic homemade snow cone shop in a retro minty green trailer!  i'm so jealous.  and inspired.

i had almost forgotten

how much i love amy butler's fabrics.  these all randomly chosen at fabric.com.  the bottom would probably word best for my new look for the dining room. (yellow and grey with pops of turquoise)

hooray for michaels!

i knew if i waited long enough, i would get my hands on one of those 40% off any one item at michaels.  i've had my eye on these cowboy ransom stamps (for the class, and for my own experimenting) for a month or so.  my mom just gave me a 50% off-er!

onesie workshops

well, as far i can tell, most of my readers don't even live close to where my onesie classes will be...  but if you do, or know people who do, please spread the word that in about 1 month, all mothers and friends of babies 0-1.5 yrs. will be able to take part in the cutest, most fun workshop available, printmaking on organic onesies.  ** also includes yummy treats

wear the world

so my friend heather just launched a new site for her beautiful jewelry called wear the world. (www.weartheworld.net)  catchy right? can't wait for her shop to be up and running.  i'll post when it is.  i think all the jewelry i now wear is something that she has made for me!

polaroid wall

this inspires my new idea. wouldn't it be fun to have a polaroid wall of all the guests that come to your house over a year, or 10 years, what have you?  now where would we put it...  seen on sneak peek at design*sponge

gesine

well today was excursion day for jacob and i, along with my mom and good friend heather.  we ventured bright and early to our capital city, montpelier.  truth be told, i had been craving the coffee and sweets from gesine, the most fabulous confectionary this side of nyc for the past 6 months, since my last visit.  (also interesting to note that sandra bullock's sister founded this tiny treat boutique and bakes them).  well it didn't let us down! we had the pumpkin cheesecake on oreo.  delish.  i wish these pictures did her confections justice.

Hello Topshop!

well, after a fun week with my scottish bff, i received a couple of fabulous items from kate moss' uk shop, topshop. and incidentally, (what are the odds) her new usa shop opened today!  i must confess, i am a pretty large closet fan of all things kate moss.
